EFFECTS OF LONGTERM ALCOHOL MISUSE

A couple of years ago, a drink company took out an advertisement about the after effects of drinking and driving.  It was a hard-hitting campaign, which showed the writing of a person who had taken a couple of drinks, "I can drive safely after drinking," was what was written clearly after the person had downed a drink.  After his fifth drink, his writing was completely haywire, he was uncoordinated, and he was not completely clear about what he was writing.

That is one of the after effects of drinking alcohol.  Long-term alcohol misuse means that people find it very difficult to think coherently, make decisions, think clearly, and speak logically and sensibly.

The body has physiologically become accustomed to an input of alcohol, which is a substitute to the more essential minerals and natural products needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the brain.  That is why the body demands that a person drink alcohol.  Long-term alcohol misuse means that a person will need to give into his craving of alcohol whenever the body demands it.

It is also going to mean that the central nervous system of the body is going to be impaired.  Cirrhosis of the liver as well as stomach and heart problems is going to ensue.  As a person cannot regulate the intake of alcohol, he is going to drink more of it, just because he cannot survive without it.  He was stop eating meals because he is going to subsist on alcohol.  If this is not treated as a disease, it is ultimately be life threatening.
