Prescription drug: ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

One would be surprised to know that even prescription drugs could cause environmental problems.  That is true.  Scientists are tampering with nature, to make genetically modified medicines and food.  Every single food item in the world is being experimented on, to make it even more productive.

Moreover, this is done by genetic engineering.  The idea is to make the plants like sugarcane, corn, Rice etc. more resistance to pests.  That is the reason why so many powerful pesticides are being used, because after all there will come a time when the pests would become resistant to one particular pesticide.  There is no proof anywhere that those powerful pesticides are not transmitted to our food.  And there is no proof that the genetically modified food as all the goodness which nature bestowed upon it.

One of the most worrying things about prescription drugs like Prozac, finding their way into the water supply and disturbing the environmental balance is a matter of concern for environmentalists.  The contamination of the soil and the water by Prozac means that we are going to ingest everything that has been contaminated by this prescription drug.  It also means that we are willing to eat contaminated fish, because we have closed our eyes to the environmental problems and issues here.  Prozac has been known to endanger the health of a newborn child.

His growth is going to be regarded, he's going to suffer from oxygen deprivation, his body temperature is going to be low, he's going to suffer from breathing problems etc..  If such a prescription drug can do this to a tiny human being, what is it going to do to a fully-grown human being who has been ingesting it during pregnancy?  Prozac is also capable of producing miscarriages and infertility in human beings.  So everyone has to start worrying about the effect of prescription drugs on human beings and the environment!
