Prescription drug:  REGULATION IN THE UK AND USA

Just switch on the television.  You are going to see an ad about somebody who is not feeling quite chipper and cheerful.  Suddenly, he takes a prescription drug, which admittedly makes him feel healthy and happy.  Prescription drugs are one of the markets out there, which is booming exponentially.

People go to the doctor and ask them to give them the drug that they have seen in the advertisements.  These advertisements are supposedly a panacea for all sicknesses.  Not only are these advertisements misleading, but prescription drugs are getting to be more harmful, day by day.  Let's take an example, a young boy killed his grandparents a couple of months ago.  He was on prescription drugs, and his doctor and his father admitted that.  It took the young cheerful boy two weeks to turn from normal to homicidal.

The facts are there out in your local newspaper and on the Internet.  The prescription drugs, which are being touted in the market today, are Zoloft and Vioxx, which will supposedly cure your osteoarthritis pain.  By the way, that young boy was on Zoloft.  27,000 people who have taken Vioxx have died of cardiac arrest.  This fallacious market is burgeoning, rapidly.  According to them, prescription drugs are safe and make you feel better.  Remember one thing; there is absolutely no drug in the world, which is a safe drug.

According to these advertisements, you will not get addicted to these drugs, (sneer of Oh, yes, and raised eyebrow).  The UK government and the USA government are trying their best to regulate the influx of prescription drugs in the market.  Nevertheless, they are fighting a losing battle against the prescription drug cartel preying upon the sensibilities of a susceptible vulnerable and credulous public.
